Each November the Pacific Digital Photography Club produces “ Photomotion”, a compendium of our members’ digital slide/sound shows. The shows include a selection of juried audio-visual presentations approximately 3 to 4 minutes in duration. Contents of the shows are up to the individual photographers, but are juried for quality by a panel of CAPA judges. Highlights of the presentations include:
- Stunning images projected from a 10,000 lumens projector in full HD on a 20’ screen.
- 6 channel Dolby surround sound,
- Matinee and evening shows,
- Show commentary by a master of ceremonies
- Intermission refreshments
- Guest photographer and
- Over $3,000 in door prizes.
In a survey conducted following a previous year’s Photomotion presentation 97% of the respondents said Photomotion met or exceeded their expectations and 92% said they would attend future Photomotion presentations and the same percentage said they would recommend Photomotion to a friend. Each year we have a special guest presenter. In 2022 our guest was local photographer Kayla Stevenson.
Kayla titled her presentation “Tall Tales and Scary Stories from My Adventures in Africa”. No trip to Africa is complete without exciting wildlife encounters, poignant tales of people met and all the little mishaps that can happen when traveling. This presentation was not about who went where and saw what, but a compilation of personal stories from many travels across nine countries of this wild and amazing continent.

We will line up our guest presenter for 2023 in mid 2023 so check back then for more information.
Our presentation for 2023 will be a milestone event. It will be the 20th anniversary of bringing Photomotion to you. It will be a very special event for our club so you won’t want to miss it.
Prior years’ shows at the Inlet Theatre in Port Moody have been well attended with total sell outs for both pre-Covid shows in 2018 & 2019. Unfortunately, in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid19 we were not able to present Photomotion in the Inlet Theatre so we brought you Photomotion in a virtual format from our website. We were very excited to be able to return to the Theatre this year for Photomotion 2022 and all going well we will be back in the theatre in 2023..
Photomotion takes place in the Inlet Theatre in Port Moody on Saturday, November 18, 2023. There are two shows, a Matinee from 2:00 to 4:30 P.M. and an Evening show from 7:00 to 9:30 P.M. Tickets are $18 and can be obtained by using the PayPal link on this site or by contacting Elfi Redpath at 604-929-7860 or by emailing Elfi at, ewredpath@telus.net. Tickets purchased via PayPal will be available for pick-up at the Theatre starting one hour before the show.
