At this regular club meeting where guests are always welcome our featured guests speaker is Manfred Krause. His presentation will focus on Panorama Photography.
In his teens Manfred Kraus discovered photography through the use of the legendary medium format twin lens film camera Rolleiflex. He graduated in Germany as a Lithographer and installed the first digital “Photo Drum Scanner” in Vancouver Canada. His extensive experience in analog film photography has been a benefit to incorporate and switch to digital photography.
The spectacular Vancouver cityscape and raw beauty of British Columbia’s landscape inspired him to capture these views in a panoramic format. With his newest robotic panorama equipment, Manfred creates super high resolution stitched photos capable of being transformed into large Giclee prints up to 8′ on canvas, photo paper, aluminum and a high end version “AcrylArt”, a glass mounted print.
Technology and camera are part of the equation but intentional thoughts of view, angle, lighting, patience and a good eye makes all the difference to create this magical moment in time.
His photography is sold through publishers and his artwork can be seen at the WhiteOcean Gallery on Granville Island, the Lloyd Gallery in Penticton and other Vancouver framing galleries. You can see Manfred’s work on his website at: www.mgkphotos.com
